Animation Installation ArtJacolby Satterwhite is a very unique artist that creates diverse and memorable animations. Satterwhite has a very unique and different style of art that has never been seen before. This gives him an advantage and makes his pieces more interesting and eye catching. The piece I chose above is called “Transit”. Above is a video still of “Transit” from Reifying Desire 6 that was created this year. “Transit” has a combination of HD digital video, color, and 3-D animation. This piece has been shown in Courtesy OHWOW Gallery, Los Angeles and Mallorca Landings Gallery, Spain. Currently this piece is in the 2014 Whitney Biennial. “Transit” gives the viewer a look into a surreal world that becomes an experience for the viewer. What makes this piece and many of Jacolby Satterwhite’s other pieces so successful is the combination of different art styles and forms into one project. I find his work very entertaining and interesting. His art is out of the box and breaks art confinements that many other artworks don’t. He pushes the limits of his imagination and creates new worlds for his viewers to experience. I look forward to what he will create in the future and what new heights he will reach with his art.

She has created other short stop motion films that are just as creative and captivating as the film Bottle. However, many would argue that Bottle is her most successful and inspiring piece of art yet. Bottle is a touching story about two friends that are separated by the sea and communicate by sending things in a bottle across the sea. Kirsten Lepore ability to create a story that is not only clever and interesting, but also emotionally captivating is amazing. She uses a simple concept to create a huge effect by her amazing ability to storyline. Bottle also showcases Kirsten Lepore’s talent for using the environment and nature to create art. The effort and work it must have taken to create a piece like this is true dedication. She pushes the boundaries of the possibilities of creating art through nature that people can relate to. Her ability to create a captivating and emotional story within such a small amount of time is true talent. She has motivated me to incorporate more nature into my art and to create mesmerizing stories that touch my viewers. |
